1. How much does a Web site cost?
This is a bit of a tricky question. The answer really depends on what
services you are going to require. For a more detailed description of
our pricing visit our Pricing page. In general, most of our Web sites
average $1,500 for a ten page Web site design. Ten pages is usually more
than adequate for a small business Web site.
2. Why do I have to pay a monthly fee to own a Web site?
The truth is you don’t. There are services out there that will
allow you to host a Web site for free. The downside is that many times
they will require you to advertise on their behalf and sometimes with
content that is in direct competition with your own business. There are
also less expensive hosting packages available from a variety of different
sources. But most will only provide the hosting. If you want additional
services you generally will need to pay for them. Our hosting is $35
per month and includes a variety of services already included in the
price. Hosting costs you money because it costs us money to provide a
reliable service to our clients.
3. Do I really need a Web site?
No, you don’t. You can have a successful business without a Web
site. But the reality is that many of your competitors may already have
a Web site or are considering getting one because they recognize the
convenience and benefits of having one. Think about how much you are
spending on printed advertising or telephone book advertising. Owning
a Web site is a one time expenditure with a small monthly cost. A Web
site is like a living brochure. You can put a lot of good information
on your site and simply direct your clients to it.
4. How long does it take to get a Web site?
The answer to this question depends on a number of factors. But the
single largest factor is how quickly and completely the client can provide
the needed information for their Web site. The longer it takes to gather
the required information the longer it will take to build the site. Often
we can build a site in just a few weeks but more commonly it takes between
4 – 6 weeks to complete a Web site design project.
5. Can’t I just design my own Web site?
Yes. There is nothing preventing you from designing your own Web site.
You can go and take a class at a community college or simply find a company
that allows you to build your own site using one of their templates.
Many times this is most cost effective. However, most business owners
do not have time to sit down and learn about Web site design. And why
should they? Most successful business owners focus their attention on
their core business and outsource tasks like Web site design to companies
such as ours.
